[Translation] The Television April 2011 - NYC

Yuma’s part
The food that you eat a lot recentlyCapsicum and meat stir fry. Ever since at the making of [Yume Tamago] where I ate some from the obento I got addicted to it. During the period of the stage show [Shinshun Takizawa Kakumei] I’d always go down to a Chinese restaurant near the theatre to eat.
What do you want to start on the most this spring?A new treatment for pollen allergies (or hay fever?), taking in a small amount of pollens into the body, increasing the body’s immunisation toward it. I am very interested in this method.
The kouhai you missed the most7WEST’s Shingaki Yuto. His appearance has become very attractive, and his dancing has developed a lot as well.
[Shinshun Takizawa Kakumei] small incident when everything was over, Takizawa-kun said to me “keep in touch”, so I asked “can we exchange contact details then?” and then he said “No! That you have to investigate yourself”. In the end I was still getting tested (laughs).
Recently, collecting torches? Still collecting them. Right now I have around 10 of them. I also bring the torches that can attach to notebooks with a pin on stage with me. And because of that even on the dark stage the words can still be read, it was very popular!

The food you ate a lot recentlyraw beef dishes. Although I talk a lot about going to BBQ restaurants, going to hot pot restaurants recently but I really don’t think anything can win against raw beef dishes.
The kouhai you missed the mostOn Hey! Say! JUMP’s winter concert the Jr who performed Mariusu-kun. Although he’s very fluent in German, when he spoke Japanese it’s very cute like a little baby!
If acting in a drama?I want a character like in [Hana Yori Dango] who all the girls talk about; it’s not too bad even to get a little bit mushy (laughs).
What do you want to start on the most this spring?Rather than rethinking about what to do, I hope to become better at what I’m doing now. Thinking I want to sing the songs better, recently I’ve been at KTV testing my own voice range.
The Korean word you memorised recently is?Yappojima! Which means “don’t underestimate me”, it can be used in a lot of places (laughs).
Recently what have you learnt in [School Kakumei]?No one ever reads it there are actually 73 images of the existing kanji, after knowing this I find it very unbelievable. I actually don’t get this part… at all! Yama-chan why do you always talk so deep~ O.o

If NYC were to be 3 brothers?Ryosuke would be the eldest, I would be the middle and Yuma would be the youngest (Yamada who was sitting next to him said “huh~? Wouldn’t you definitely be the youngest?”)No no, even though I said I’m the second one but strangely I’d want the youngest one to spoil me, that is my style.
What do you want to start on the most this spring?24 hours of longest sleep time. 12 hours was a piece of cake, so I want to challenge 24 hours.
For 2011’s Arashi, what kind of hope do you hold for Ohno Satoshi?I wish that he’d invite me out privately, like go fishing or just go eat, anything is good!
What’s the latest news about Hey! Say! JUMP?Yabu-kun and Hikaru-kun are love-love. They have the exact same ear phones. I think it was a birthday present that Yabu-kun gave to Hikaru-kun (laughs). that's actually news? I thought they've been love-love since Ya3 xD
Cross talkThis year the first hit of new single is [Yume Tamago], it’s got a very NYC styled typed of supporting song.
Nakayama: basically it’s a pop-typed brightening song. I think listening to it can also make someone brighten up!
Yamada: use never give up as the goal to run toward your ideal dream into the lyrics, just because it’s something that gets forgotten easily, if listening to this song can remind people of that dream then I’ll feel very happy.
Chinen: I reckon “ki tto ki tto o o ki ku na ru yo” (will definitely definitely grow up) that line of the lyrics we’ll also saying it to ourselves. Just like the lyrics said, I also want to grow taller and better on the inside (laughs).
Nakayama: speaking of which, the PV this time is continuing from last time [Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe] so no dance was filmed.
Yamada: that’s right! Because the 2 are linked, so fans would probably be very surprised as well. But this time the content is very fascinating; we all shrunk and entered a doll house. That’s the type of set up.
Chinen: and then transformed to chef and pilot. 3 of us all made different types of dream came true.
Nakayama: I was very glad to be able to become a MLB player (Major League Baseball).
Yamada: the 3 of us’ different type of cosplay is the attention point. I became the J-League football player ♫
Next let’s talk about the actual title, “yume” (dream) and “Tamago” (egg). First of all, who’s the person that sees “dream” a lot?
Yamada: probably me. My specialty is day dreaming.
Nakayama: what do you day dream about lately?
Yamada: for example while travelling if I see a beautiful scene at a certain place, I’ll think “if I have a girl friend I’ll take her to a place like this” something like that.
Chinen: hyu~hyu~ ♥
Nakayama: but I’m the same. If passing by a nice place sometimes I’ll feel like going on a date. At Tokyo when I saw lanterns decorations that I’ve never seen in Osaka, I was really moved.
Chinen: well I’m different from you two. Rather than thinking about romantic places I admire more about living alone (laughs). I want to live in a place like this~ thinking something like that makes me really excited!
Next is, out of 3 of you who have got the “egg” skin?
Chinen: it’s definitely Ryosuke.
Nakayama: no doubt about that.
Yamada: but recently I’ve grown a couple of acne.
Chinen: doesn’t matter, it’s very smooth. When I see Ryosuke’s skin that’s smooth like an egg…. I really want to pat it (laughs).
Yamada: Oi, why is that?
Nakayama: then, let’s pat it. Se-no (Chine & Nakayama lightly patted Yamada’s face).
Yamada: Oi, that’s weird! You guys are so annoying~ (laughs).
Chinen: alright, the conclusion is [NYC’s “dream” presentation].
Nakayama: yeah. I want the 3 of us to do a variety show. How does [NYC’s leisurely trip] sound?
Yamada: that’s like completely Yuma’s dream (laughs). I want to release NYC album.
Chinen: that sounds good~ then I want to one day be able to hold a concert at the national stadium like Arashi.
Yamada: that’s right. Dreams need to be big. Ma~ beginning from spring the 3 of us will work hard together with this feeling.

Our dreams of Onsen trip - I'll explain what an Onsen is later for those who don't know
----- After completing the filming of [Yume Tamago] Yamada: seen the PV, it’s really very cute
Chinen: ma~ since I was there. It’d be cute no matter what.
Yamada: you’re annoying~ (laughs). But it truly was cute.
Nakayama: because it was all completed wit CG animation production.
Chinen: even our face was CG
Yamada: don’t joke around! Because we really look forward to the complete product, so we feel very happy.
Chinen: I can already imagine 80% of it.
Yamada: that’s in fact really amazing.
Nakayama: we played around with a lot of cosplay. Ever since I was young I dreamed of becoming a baseball player.
Yamada: mine was soccer player.
Chinen: for me it was painter and pilot.
Yamada: you said that you used to want to become a painter?
Chinen: not anymore now.
Yamada: according to Chinen’s skill at art it’ll be very difficult to become a painter, it’s like the level of a 2nd grader at elementary school (laughs).
Nakayama: I also had a dream of becoming a conductor. Such dream of wanting to become a conductor, you probably can’t imagine it (laughs).
----- What’s it like playing the role of a conductor?Chinen: waving the stick around in front of many people, under that pressure can make the stick that’s originally light become heavy, right?
Nakayama: that’s exactly correct (laughs).
Yamada: that’s hard work for you (laughs)!
Nakayama: I cosplayed a conductor. But didn’t Yamada-kun also wear a chef’s outfit while imitating a conductor?
Yamada: yes, I did.

Chinen: that’s because we all love music. Because drawing turn out to be irritating (laughs).
----- speaking of the song included in the regular edition [Seishun Kippu], if all 3 of you were to go travelling?Nakayama: (answers immediately) An Onsen trip! Onsen is hot spring
Chinen: then let’s list all the names of the onsen.
Nakayama: OK! Arima onsen! now I've never studied the landscape of Japan... so if the names are wrong PLEASE forgive me

Nakayame: isn’t that a professional wrestler? Tenzan Hiroyoshi, Japanese professional wrestler
Yamada: HaHa (laughs) ~ no. it’s a famous onsen located at Hakone.
Chinen: And there’s Kusatsu, Gero, Yuhuin and etc.
Yamada: are we going to all go in together naked?
Chinen: No~~ I want to go in by myself.
Yamada: then you can go yourself then. What we’re talking about now is all 3 of us together. So after onsen is….

Yesterday, I went with my father at a place where you play the "strikes"

I'm pretty bored now and so not used to the way i'm livin now >.<....the weather r diff and cold here, wen i'm at hong kong i go out shoppin and other places every day, now i've cum bak ders nothin to do....lol
Looking back on this year the biggest thing that happened to me was the formation of NEWS. On the day of our CD release I rode in a helicopter to help promote the single but I was actually really really frightened (lol). I don’t normally have a fear of heights but there was something about the instability of being in a helicopter that I didn’t like… (lol). But I’m glad everything went well that day. Though I still don’t really feel like I’ve released a CD, it hasn’t sunk in yet (lol). Right now (this interview was done in early November) I’m spending everyday traveling across the country to cheer on the matches in the World Cup Volleyball tournament. I think the Japanese team really is strong and they always put up a great fight. The other NEWS members as well as myself are really into every game we see. I’m impressed by how dedicated the players are!
You want me to talk about the activities for NEWS after this tournament is done? Well, personally I’d like it if we could create a lot of opportunities to meet with our fans. People all across the country have bought our CD and become our fans. I’d like to get a chance to directly say thank you to as many of them as I can and hope we can enjoy our music together, so think it would be great if we could have a lot of opportunities for that. Looking into the future, I hope NEWS can one day hold their own concert! It’d be nice if we could perform some songs we wrote ourselves at that too. I’ve actually been writing some lyrics recently. I’ve got a few sets of lyrics already finished too. I create the lyrics based on how I feel at the moment, that’s all. I think it’s easy to put feeling into singing a song you wrote yourself, so when the day comes that I can perform something I wrote myself for all of you fans, I hope to… that’s how I feel but I don’t know when that’ll be (lol). Please be patient (lol).
I’m not very satisfied with my own singing voice
The theme for today’s interview is “music” and I have to say that I love singing songs myself as well as listening to other artists sing. I haven’t had time to go buy any CDs lately but I’m checking lots of different artists out. I particularly like artists like Keisuke Kuwata. He sings a lot of songs that go with a certain season and I think that’s really relaxing to listen to. But I don’t sing his songs all that much at karaoke. That’s a totally different issue though (lol).
There are a lot of senpai who I think are great at singing. Like Tsuyoshi-kun or Sakamoto-kun, I really think they’re talented. In NEWS, Moriuchi is really good. What about me? I’m really bad at singing. If I was to judge my own voice… I’d say it sounds scratchy and beat up (lol). (Potato interviewer: I think your singing voice is really pretty and sounds good) Well, I can’t feel satisfied with my own voice. I guess I just have to keep singing a lot and get practiced at it. So… I’ll work hard (lol). I mentioned this earlier, but I do enjoy singing, so I hope to put some hard work into it. It’s really fun to sing at concerts. I’m really nervous up until it’s time to go out on stage, but as soon as the show starts I just have fun the whole time (lol). I’ve gotta work hard throughout 2004 so I can increase my singing ability.

-When do you usually write songs?There are times when I put myself down to write but sometimes they come out from simple humming.

When I was little, I used to visit my grandpa’s house in Saitama all the time and play there. I still have great, fond memories of him and I want to play with my grandkids with all the spare time I have. I’ll even tree climb with them!

I want to become a grandpa who can eat yakiniku every day and be a fatty! Okay, he doesn’t really say “fatty” but you get what I mean… I hope. Even now whenever I go to a yakiniku store, I order Korean seaweed and rice and while eating that, I eat beef. I can’t wait for the meat to cook so I’ll just eat the rice+seaweed while I’m waiting (laughs).

Hawaii is fun. The sea is pretty and you can see the rainbow every day so it's the best! I like going to the sea to fish. But I don't really like going in the sea. To be honest, it's because I can't swim (laughs). To be accurate, I can just barely swim up until 25m through a breaststroke. 50m might be hard. Even if I go in the sea, if I advance to a place that's deep where my feet can't reach [the ground anymore], it's scary. Ma, this time I floated using a swim ring as I played. Those are for kids .... . I am in this kind of state but my mom is very good at swimming. She's a woman who does the butterfly in the river (laughs). It seems like she has always been surfing since she was young. I want her to teach me both swimming and surfing.
Now that I came to the beach and instead of just not being able to swim, I want to get even my skin tanned but my skin doesn't get tan at all either! Even if I do my best to go in the direction of the sun, I only become red and that's it. The next day, it's like I reverse to my pure white skin (laughs). If I got tanned until I was light brown, it would be cool if my swimsuit suited me properly. Eventually, speaking of the things I do at the beach, I am only healed by it. Zazaan .. Zazazaan (This is the sound of the waves)... It's laid-back.

I think I came closer to being an adult this year.
Because I already can drink a can of coffee!
But only those coffes that have enough milk and sugar!
Everybody asks me " You like coffee so sweet huh?", but no way,
I think the other ones are too bitter (laughs).
I always drink one before school.
If I did't so, I'll feel sleepy in class.
But to be honest, I still do not understand if Coffee is tasty.
It seems that to me to drink black coffee is still far.
My goal in 2011 is graduating from High school.
But this, is a thing that you'll never know what can happen
untill the end.
I always say I want to graduate, so if I don't,
I'll look like a loser, right!?
I'm thinking of going to England when I pass College!
I wanna go and see my friends from school when I studied there.
All of them are in the same school, but when they all graduate
they will go to different Colleges.
So I talked with my friend who's there through video chat

Anyway, 2010 was a year that I hooked on baseball!
I went about five times to the Tokyo Dome and I went
the first time in Jingu Kyuujo (Jingu Stadium) too.
When I went in Jingu, it was a rainy day and
I was sitting where the fans of Kyojin (Giants) sit,
because it's my favorite team.
As the rain was getting stronger, I went to a Gift Shop
to buy a raincoat.
But, as they were no longer selling the raincoats fo Giants, I bought
a raincoat of Yakult and went to watch the game.
i was sitting in the Giants side but wearing a Yakult raincoat...
I guess I was flashy...!?
And the game's outcome was that the Yakult won.
Frustrating!!
My goal in 2011, anyway, is watch a game in Jingu, that Giants
wins the game (laughs).
My head is full of Baseball now.
Because I watch The Sport News evereyday.
I'm thinking things like :When releasing the "Tobanai Booru" (means The Ball
that doesn't fly), will it decrease the number of home runs?
and other various things.
Some day I wanna be in Sports Programs like Kamenashi-kun.
It doesn't have to be now.
When I become of a more adult.
For this, I want to push myself to my studies this spring
when I'll become a High School student.
Now more things will help me out when I have to interview a player, right?
With the start of a new life, I'll change my feelings and live
a right and regular life.

2010 was a year that I did all the things I like.
I started about summer time, Riding because there was an opened a Ride Club in my neighborhood.
There was a black horse that appeared in a commercial of Plasma TV!
But to ride that horse, you must have a license of
Second degree or Third degree, but I just have the Fifth degree
(The best, is to be the First degree).
I still have a long way to go ...
I want to study more, and someday ride this horse.
Oh, I like so much the Basashi (horse meat), and I
ate it the first time after I started the riding lessons one of these days.
I thought I'd feel sorry...But it's realy tasty so I ate (laughs).
Now, I'm interested in Archery too.
If you do the Archery riding, it will seems like Yabusame (laughs).(is a modality
which practice archery on a horse.)
In 2011, I want to have new Hobbies and improve
what I already have. Example. For example, the tap dance.
My professor of tap dance, HIDEBOH San is famous in the whole world.
He made new steps, hes an incredible person.
...Decided! I'll dance in 2011 with the goal which people become glassy-eye at my dance and at Concerts and TV Shows!!

2010 was useful.
Since Oshogatsu (New Year) I went to a bowling place and one of these days I went in an Onsen in Hakone.
This was an active year, that I usually went to various places.
And I hooked in search restaurants with tasty dishes!
Not searching in books, but going to restaurants that I guessed they'll be good,
believing in my feelings.
One of these days, I invited Yabu to a restaurant with a delicious Tsukemen ♥
I also invited him a restaurant of Tonkatsu and
another of Raamen with yummy Chaashu...my favorites are increasing.
With whom will I eat next?
In 2011 I'll be 18.
It's the age that I can get a driver's license!
I better have one to be able to play various roles in dramas but...
is slightly annoying so I still thinking about (laughs).
What I most wanna do is be friend with someone who is of other genre.
I wanna talk with a Sport Player like Ishikawa Ryo-kun!
As we dance and do some stants, then somehow we are athletes too, right??
I think we have many things in common.
Talking about that, Ryo-kun have the same age that Dai-chan have.

When 2010 started, I read a fortune-telling book
which said thus:"You will be blessed meeting people", and it was really
like that!
What I was happy about, was meeting again the director of "Tantei Gakuen Q" in "Hidarime Tantei EYE".
I always talked to him about acting before taking some scene shots.
But only when Yokoyama-kun (Kanjani ) & I were in the jail
to film the last episode, he didn't tell me anything.
He heard my explanation about the acting, and then started shooting the scene.
For a moment, I thought "Maybe he is upset with me?",but when they said CUT! he told me: That was splendid!...
I think he didn't say anything because I was right.
I hope I can be more grown up when I meet him again.
In 2011 I wanna get the Chef's License and get the license to take care of children! Oh, but to be a professor at the nursery, they say that you need to know how to play piano.
I can even play the "Nekofunjyatta"(laughs).
And have the Drive's license too!
I want to bring the members of JUMP in an Onsen in Hakone!
As in back home gives laziness, I'll ask for Takaki to drive!

Like the drama I’m being put in, “Hidarime Tantei EYE” I’m always playing the detective in mystery dramas. Being a detective is really hard, you know!? We have to see murder crime scenes, catch suspects, and until we find evidence, we have to continue working. I think you’ll need a lot of energy to be a detective. Also, there’s always that pattern when you think you caught the suspect! But in fact, there was another suspect… In the dramas that I was in, I was put in situations like that most of the time, probably because they were dramas. Anyways, it’s impossible for me to become a real detective! When I was a kid, I played this game with my little sister, where she would hide a ball and I would have to find it… and I tried looking for it, but I couldn’t. On top of that, I’m that type of person who gives up if they can’t do something. Yeah, I’m not meant to be a detective (laughs).
If I were to become a detective, I’ll research Ryutaro! He apparently lives in an amazing house, and when I speak to him about it, he says, “We have a pool,” or “We’re going to keep a doctor fish as a pet.” Doctor fish…? But having a pool in a backyard in Japan is amazing. You have to have lots of land= lots of $$$. So I want to see what kind of house he lives in. Maybe I can play soccer inside his house? Well, for me I get very calm in large open spaces ♪

When I was a kid, I didn’t really read books so I was never… admiring the detectives (laughs). But recently I’ve been into detective mangas amazingly. So this is really on time ♪ If I were to become a detective, I want to stick by my parents and find out more about them. Since both of them are fairly young, I see them as friends. Including my older sister, we talk about all sorts of things as family. They sometimes talk about how they met, and during those talks we (Takaki&sister) listen intently. But in those talks, there’s some parts where you would say “That’s definitely a lie~” so I want to see if those stories that they tell us are actually true (laughs).
After I research about them, I would secretly stalk my friends and I want to see what they’re like when they’re not around me, what kind of lives they lead. In honesty, I don’t have a lot of friends. But I’m not lonely. I’m very close with few people. When I get to know a person really well, I know them inside out and all our feelings are honest. Even if I see something absurd with them, we’ll be fine probably (laughs). But even though I spoke about this like that, I can’t be a detective. Because it’s impossible for me to stalk somebody. I think it’s the best that you admire the detectives while you’re at your own home and reading your own detective manga (laughs).
